While visiting our cottage in Temagami this past fall, my wife Peg had become alarmed by my increasingly serious symptoms. We decided to head to NBRHC, about an hour or so drive away, where I was immediately admitted for severe internal injuries.

Over the next two weeks, staff worked tirelessly to fix me up and pull me through from a very frightening experience. During that time, I continually remember thinking –“Wow, these people are great”- and I know I was not the most ideal patient to deal with on many days.

From being treated and admitted through the Emergency Department, to receiving the necessary diagnostic tests, and receiving further care in the Critical Care Unit and Inpatient Surgery Unit, I was beyond grateful to have experienced such incredible kindness, compassion, and outstanding care.

Peg and I have expressed our sincere gratitude for my health journey at the NBRHC with a donation to the Grateful Family program.
