Danielle is a lawyer whose areas of practice include the preparation of Wills and Powers of Attorney, estate administration & guidance, residential and commercial real estate and commercial transactions.
The North Bay Regional Health Centre has played an important role in Danielleâs life, and she is inspired to be able to assist the Foundation in helping our hospital deliver leading edge medical care to the community.

Eric Thomson

Eric is a Senior Financial Planning Advisor at Assante Wealth Management Ltd and heads Thomson Financial Partners. As a second-generation small business owner, Eric works with a close-knit team of colleagues and industry professionals dedicated to exceptional planning for their clients.Â
Eric, along with his wife, children, and the entire Thomson family, share a proud legacy of inspiring involvement at our hospital. Supporting NBRHC is deeply rooted in their family values and reflects their shared belief in the importance of exceptional healthcare, close to home.

Gail Thomsen

Born and bred in Toronto, Gail moved to North Bay in 1980. Gail and her husband bought Central Welding, Iron Works, which has remained family owned, and operated for over 40 years â Gailâs son and daughter are now at the helm.
âSeveral years ago, I was diagnosed with colon cancer and my journey with NBRHC began. A series of surgeries followed. Thankfully, the outcome was positive. I was introduced to the Foundation when I decided honour my caregivers (4 doctors and 2 nurses) with Golden Heart Awards through the Grateful Family Program. Without their care and expertise, I would not be here today.â
Gailâs philosophy is, âWhen someone does something nice for you, you should do something nice for them!â
In addition to serving as a Trustee, you can find Gail volunteering in the Foundation Office every Tuesday. She and her family also participate in Our Hospital Walk/Run annually and she enjoys a great day at the Osprey Links Golf Tournament as a volunteer.
In her free time, Gail keeps busy with her 5 grandchildren and enjoys cooking, crafting and playing the piano.

Heather Krajci

Heather Krajci has operated self service car washes in the community for more than 12 years.
“After being diagnosed with breast cancer, I was incredibly grateful for the care I received from the doctors and staff at NBRHC. It inspired me to be an ambassador for our hospital while helping ensure others receive the same excellent care close to home that I received. As a mother of two boys,  Iâm passionate about ensuring our hospital is a lifeline for our community for years to come.”
Heather loves spending time outdoors, fishing, hiking, and watching her boys play hockey on the ice.

Jamie Graham

Now retired, Jamie started his career in public accounting and practiced audit assurance, taxation, general consulting and worked as an IT specialist. He was a senior administrator at Nipissing University for over 24 years.
In his spare time, Jamie enjoys spending time with family, is an avid curler and a recreational soccer player.

Kim Kanmacher

Kim Kanmacher is an accomplished Senior Executive, President & CEO with over 30 yearsâ experience in the Health & Wellness Charity/Not-for-Profit sector.
She is a proud donor, and passionate trustee about our hospital. She thrives on community building by identifying, engaging, and energizing key stakeholders.
As a Breast Cancer survivor, Kanmacher knows firsthand, how incredibly important, and timely it is to have the state-of-the-art equipment and health care professional expertise available close to home in our community, at our hospital always.
Kim has served the Rotary Club of North Bay for over 20 years. She is an advocate for children, youth and families and is the current President/Board Chair of the Nipissing, Parry Sound Childrenâs Aid Society.
In her spare time, she loves to stay active, explore the great outdoors and spend time with her grandchildren, family, and friends.

Lauri Petz

Lauri is a retired banker who has lived in North Bay for 19 years. As a two-time cancer survivor, Lauri has developed a keen interest in helping cancer patients navigate our healthcare system by sharing her story and sitting on numerous committees at the local, regional and provincial level.
âNBRHC is important to me because I was a previous patient who received amazing care and admire the work our healthcare professionals do. I served on the NBRHC Board for 15 years gaining perspective on how we can always continue to improve patient care. I now serve as a Trustee with the Foundation because I our community plays a big role in ensuring the tools and resources at NBRHC are up to date and continue to meet the needs of the patients who use our hospital services, close to home.â
Lauriâs biggest passions are travel the world, visiting family in Saskatchewan and enjoying her home on the water.

Laura Piche

Laura moved to North Bay at 18 to attend Canadore because she had zero interest in âthe big citiesâ â she is still a local citizen; now a college alumni, wife, mother and volunteer. In 2020, she proudly stepped into retirement after a 35 year career in communications as a Registered Graphic Designer and marketer, based entirely in North Bay yet with global reach.Â

She has held positions as professor at Canadore College, Creative Director with Lynn Johnston Productions, freelance designer for local film and television projects, and Global Marketing Manager for Redpath Canada. Her career ran in tandem as co-owner with her husband, of Hume Paint Contracting, modelling small business enterprise to her family.Â

Her prior Board experience includes being a northern voice for the Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD), along with advisory committee roles with several organizations. (the Foundation, RGD, Canadore, Robotics) Early in 2021, Laura became a volunteer with Nipissing Serenity Hospice, supporting the nourishment and comfort of residents through meals and facility dĂ©cor. Lauraâs skills in design, communication, mentorship and publishing, mesh with her endless curiosity, empathy and humility.Â

Her passport is never dusty and she will never have an ego for golf.

Matt is a senior leader with TD Bank supporting colleagues across Northern Ontario. Matt returned home to North Bay in 2010 and has a passion for creating meaningful change in his community and believes health care to be at the core of a strong community. Matt is an active volunteer, serves on several boards and committees in our community, and enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends.

Matt is the President and CEO of North Bay Hydro Distribution and North Bay Hydro Services, and a long-time supporter of NBRHC.
The North Bay Regional Health Centre has always played an important role in Mattâs life, but never more so than when he battled cancer in 2011/2012: âEverything I needed for my treatment was available locally, thanks to the generosity of our community. I am beyond grateful for the care I received and for the staff of NBRHC.â
Matt lives in the North Bay area with his Labrador, MJ where they enjoy the great Northern outdoors. He enjoys golfing, hunting, snowmobiling, and spending time with his nieces.

Megan Johnson

Megan Johnson is a senior human resources executive with over 15 years of progressive experience spanning strategic workforce planning, organizational culture, talent management and labour relations. She currently serves as the Director of Human Resources at Workplace Safety North, where she provides strategic leadership to advance organizational effectiveness, strengthen people and culture practices, and support the delivery of high-quality services across Ontarioâs natural resource sectors.
Megan holds a Bachelor of Science from McMaster University, an Advanced Human Resources Certificate from Queenâs University, and the Queenâs Advanced Executive Certificate from the Smith School of Business. She is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) and Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) through the Human Resources Professionals Association.
Deeply committed to her community, Megan is proud to call North Bay home. Outside of her professional commitments, she enjoys travelling, hiking, and spending time with her family.

Paul Heinrich

Since 2012, Paul has proudly served as President and Chief Executive Officer for the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
In his spare time, Paul enjoys playing hockey and masonry work.

Paolo Dottori
Trustee
About
Paolo is a retired senior executive with over 35 years of leadership in industrial manufacturing, with expertise in engineering, energy procurement, and major capital projects. He held multiple executive roles at Tembec and RYAM, including Vice President of the Manufacturing Centre of Excellence and Senior Vice President of Supply Chain, External Affairs, and Environment.
A licensed Professional Engineer in both Ontario and Quebec, Paolo has served on several industry boards and brings invaluable experience to our philanthropic mission. He and his wife, Danielle Cousineau – physiotherapist and owner of Symetrics – enjoy golf in the summer, curling in the winter, and supporting their northern Ontario community year-round.

Tammy has worked for the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation since 2004, leading the organization as President and CEO since 2014. Her leadership is focused on building partnerships and relationships, inspiring her community to invest in its healthcare needs. The impact: continually improving availability and access to the best possible care, close to home.
Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Tammy resides in North Bay with her daughter, Summer. She enjoys traveling, volunteering as well as golfing with her friends and her partner Michael.

Tara Blake

As a Registered Dietitian with over 25 years experience, Tara works at the hospital and in the community.
âMy own personal health journey initially connected me to the Foundation. I continue to be an ambassador for the Foundation as I know the positive impact that exceptional health care, close to home can have on patients and their families, keeping them “together” during challenging times.â
In her spare time, Tara enjoys cooking and spending time with friends and family exploring all of the outdoor activities that our beautiful area has to offer.
