Super Nurse Britney Boutin

~ Super Nurse Britney Boutin and her team.

Seven years ago, our mother, Phyllis, underwent surgery for an aortic aneurysm. Complications led to a long recovery—three months in hospital in Sudbury, followed by another three months in rehabilitation at NBRHC, relearning how to walk.

Throughout the years, complications from her surgery brought us to the NBRHC Emergency Department many times. More often than not, we were met with Super Nurse Britney Boutin, RN (who fondly called me “Super Daughter”). Knowing Mom was in Britney’s capable hands brought us immense comfort.

Six months ago, when Mom was rushed to the ER with dangerously high blood pressure, Britney was there. And on March 27, when her aneurysm ruptured and she was taken by ambulance to NBRHC, Britney was by her side again—stabilizing her, keeping her comfortable, and preparing her for emergency surgery in Sudbury. Mom made it through surgery but passed away in our arms shortly after.

We will forever be grateful for Britney’s kindness, professionalism, and unwavering care for our mother—and for us. She went above and beyond, ensuring Mom was cared for with compassion and keeping us informed every step of the way.
