Grateful Family Program

Share Your Gratitude With A Golden Heart Award

Every day, incredible and compassionate care is provided to patients and families throughout our region.

The Grateful Family Program is an impactful way you and your family can express gratitude for the care you received at your hospital. Your donation can honour, thank and recognize a staff member, physician, or volunteer, with a Golden Heart Award.

Those honoured with your donation are recognized among their peers and are celebrated on the hospital’s blog and social media. They also receive a golden heart badge to wear with pride.

To learn more about the Grateful Family Program or to recognize someone who had an impact on your experience at NBRHC, please contact us at 705-495-8125 or [email protected].

You can also honour someone by donating online. Please include as much detail as possible in the comments section so we can honour your care team appropriately.

Vickers – Outpatient Lab

“For more than 14 years, I have been a “frequent flyer” of the Blood Lab. Three kinds of blood cancer and a stem cell transplant often require a lot of blood work, to say the least. “

Ian McAskile

“During that time, I continually remember thinking –“Wow, these people are great”- and I know I was not the most ideal patient to deal with on many days.”

Emma & Luke McQuarrie

“Luke, Rosie and I are eternally grateful for their care and we will forever cherish having gone through this life changing experience with them.”

A Golden Heart Award was presented to Marcia Paquette, RPN, from Sudbury Dementia Care - Oak Lodge, and Dr. Tracy Hayes, Department of Psychiatry, Service of Specialized Rehabilitation and Senior Psychiatry, for the impact they had on a patient and family experience. “We cannot begin to express the depth of gratitude we have for the team at Oak Lodge in Sudbury and the care they are providing for our father. Dad was accepted to the comprehensive Regional Dementia Care Program at a time when we were uncertain of how and where to access the assistance that he desperately needed. Our concerns and worries were significantly reduced as we witnessed the incredible care he was receiving from the superb team at Oak Lodge. The work performed by these highly skilled and compassionate healthcare professionals is nothing short of amazing and we remain extremely grateful. We would like to thank Dr. Tracy Hayes for stepping in and helping to guide us and Marcia Paquette, RPN, with whom our father developed a connection and bond. The depth of support, care and understanding that she provides makes him more comfortable and at ease. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to the entire team at Oak Lodge.”~ Anonymous, Grateful Family ~These exceptional staff went above and beyond for a patient and their family at NBRHC, inspiring the family to make a Grateful Family donation to the Foundation.
