A Clearer Future Starts Here

Help enhance NBRHC’s Diagnostic Imaging department today

3x

the impact of your gift.

FDC Foundation has committed a $1 million challenge gift for diagnostic imaging. Donations received by December 31st will be matched 2:1, with FDC Foundation’s $1 million contribution unlocked once $500,000 has been raised.

This means every donation goes three times as far in advancing diagnostic imaging at our hospital. A gift of $100 becomes $300 in impact, directly strengthening the tools used to diagnose, treat, and care for patients close to home.

Investing in the Future

Three projects currently stand at the forefront:

  • The renovation of our radiography (x-ray) and fluoroscopy suites, including the replacement of three x-ray units and two fluoroscopy systems.
  • The acquisition of a mobile C-Arm to support care across surgery, the Orthopaedic Clinic and the Emergency Department.
  • The addition of an ultrasound to expand access to care.

The Projects

X-Ray and Fluoroscopy Upgrade

NBRHC is undertaking a comprehensive upgrade of three x-ray rooms and two fluoroscopy suites.  Replacing this aging, heavily-used equipment will:

  • Improve diagnostic capabilites through higher imaging quality.
  • Enhance patient safety and comfort by incorporating dose-reduction technologies and better ergonomic design.
  • Support advanced clinical procedures through imaging capabilities.
  • Optimize clinical workflow by reducing examination times.

Acquiring a Mobile C-Arm

Obtaining an advanced mobile C-Arm machine will provide high resolution, real-time x-ray imaging during surgical procedures. The system will support Orthopaedics, Emergency Department procedures, and operating room surgical teams by:

  • Improving patient safety by reducing wait times and operational downtimes.
  • Decreasing scheduling conflicts across departments.
  • Providing clinical teams with enhanced imaging quality, supporting more accurate diagnosis, positioning, and device placement.

Increasing Capacity for Breast Imaging

To close the gap in demand for ultrasound services, NBRHC is obtaining a new advanced ultrasound system. This investment will:

  • Reduce average wait times from abnormal screenings to diagnostic follow-ups.
  • Strengthen local access to high-quality cancer diagnosis.
  • Advance earlier detection and improve outcomes for our community.

"Maintaining modern imaging infrastructure is therefore not only a matter of operational efficiency - it is fundamental to ensuring equitable access to safe, effective healthcare for the Northern communities we serve."
